Program Objectives:

Project objective was to have Lee Memorial Health System reduce overhead and improve staff efficiency by outsourcing the printing and mailing of various documents that were an in house process at the time. Southwest Direct allowed Lee Memorial Health System to terminate the leases on expensive and under-utilized printing and mailing equipment. The solution had the added benefit of freeing the Business Office staff from the tedious and time consuming process of loading paper, printing statements, clearing jams, filling toner, folding statements, inserting them into envelopes, and running to the post office on a daily basis. Lastly, the outsourcing solution eliminated the need for storing and stocking forms, envelopes, and other mailing supplies, the need to inventory these elements as well as monies tied up in maintaining the inventory. Southwest Direct’s pay-as-you go model improved cash flow by using only the materials to mail what is needed on a daily basis and eliminate the need to purchase 6 months worth of stock up front.

Distribution:

#10 double-window envelope, #9 single window envelope, 8.5 x 11 custom full color form, data processing (CASS, NCOA, DPV, LACS, Presort), variable digital imaging, folding, inserting and delivery to the post office within 24 hours.

Description:

Southwest Direct was able to successfully outsource over 700,000 documents annually for the Lee Memorial Health System Summary Bills, Detail Bills, Statements, and Pre-Collect Letters.

The project involved multiple implementations over a series of years as Lee Memorial Health System added additional facilities and completed a software conversion from Seimens to EPIC. The outsourcing project was completed on time and within budget.
